Fat - Magnetizer (1992)

Avant electric improv with bass, drums and guitar. Insanely out there wild frenzies on each instrument.

This is legendary!

I met two of these guys at a party once. After talking for an hour or so they mentioned a band they once had called Fat. I said, "You mean like Fat, Magnetizer Fat?" They found it hard to believe that I actually had heard of them and even bought the CD.

I first heard Fat on a 12:00-4:00AM Canadian CBC-FM radio show somewhere around 1989-90. I used to record the show on my reel-to-reel and listen to it the next day [an early PVR?]. Transferred to Maxell cassette and played on my Sony Walkman, I was happy. Since the death of all my cassette decks I've been tracking down the bands from that dust collecting shelf of tapes. This is the first time I've come across 'Magnetizer', the one album my R-TO-R never caught! Thanks for the opportunity to hear it.
